Not that we want to run a police state or anything like that here, but there are certain guidelines that we'd like you to follow if you're going to post here. =^.^=
On posting fics...
- This is a CLAMP-centric board. While this does not necessarily mean that you can't post fics from any other fandom, it means that you should refrain from posting things that are from fandoms which are not at all like CLAMP in any way. For a list of CLAMP-like series, check here. If you want to post something else, we ask that you please contact us first about it.
- Label appropriately. At the very least you should let us know what series the fic belongs to, perhaps pairings, if applicable and if it doesn't spoil the story. Speaking of spoilers, you should mention their existence in a note at the beginning of your fic. Aside from that, please place warnings if the story contains sensitive material, such as explicit sex, violence and the like.
Given the nature of CLAMP's works, we do NOT consider homosexual themes to be material that warrants a warning. Just thought we'd point it out. ^^x
- Don't post if you're too sensitive to take constructive criticism.
- About lemons... we have nothing against sex. However please avoid posting pointless PWPs. There are plenty of things you can do in a sex fic to give it a dimension beyond merely moaning and grinding, like characterisation or even a plot. If you’re not sure if your fic is PWP, please do check with the moderators.
- Perhaps you're in the middle of a chapter of your on-going story and you suddenly have a bad case of writer's block. You would like to post what you have of the chapter and ask opinions as to which way the story might go. Feel free to so. Just be sure to place a label such as DRAFT on it, please.
- The importance of good spelling, punctuation and grammar simply can't be stressed enough.
- On MSTs: Given the sensitive nature of these, we decided that unless you have the explicit written permission of the author of the original fanfic, MSTs should not be posted to CLAMPesque. Sorry.
- Links to Fanart and AMVs that have been made by the postee may be posted to the board. However, we do recommend that if you are posting a lot within a short period of time that they all be included in the one message to keep from flooding the board.
- Wallpapers - Since wallpapers usually involve editing official art and not very much original content, and the priority of the board is for posting fanfiction, we discourage the posting of wallpapers to the board. We direct you to post to the mailing lists for that sort of work. (See below.)
- Requests for Beta readers and referrals to private webpages are off topic and should be directed towards the Mailing List (see below). Sorry for any inconvenience.
- The Clampesque board has a Yahoo Mailing list. Sign up for it here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CLAMPesque/. All off-topic material should be posted to the mailing list, not the board. However, please bear in mind that off-topic for the board does not automatically mean it is "on topic" for the mailing list.
- Original Fiction is not allowed on CLAMPesque, but we created another board expressly for the purpose of posting Original Fiction. Please head along to Questionable Reality and support our writers!
On replies...
- Please, please, please sign up and sign in before posting. Anonymous messages are annoying and not only that, you can't edit your message afterwards if you didn't post it while signed in. There's a note above the post message forms telling you what you're currently signed in under. Use it. We have the right to delete any anonymous posting without first consulting with its author.
- Absolutely NO flaming.
Homophobic remarks in particular will NOT be well received.
- Do give constructive feedback. The key word being constructive.
- If you're going to criticize, do give a valid reason for it. Criticism should be based on the story's merits or lack of them, not on whether or not you like the pairings in it.
- On that note, the labels are there for a reason. If the idea of Fuuma and Seishirou sharing more than an ice cream cone makes you foam at the mouth, then don't read anything labelled Sei/Fu. OK?
On posting in general...
- Again, do use good spelling, punctation, etc. Av0Id dOIng ThiZ. It's not cool, it's annoying.
- Please try to keep off-topic posts to a minimun.
- The only HTML tags the board supports are <I></I>, <B></B>, <U></U> and <CENTER></CENTER>. Please strip all other HTML tags, including <BR> before posting or they will show up in the final message. To put a new line feed in, just hit enter. The board will format it exactly as it appears in the form.
- If you're having trouble logging in, first check your browser. Certain versions of Netscape (note: not all) would appear to have issues with the login system. If this is so, I can only suggest upgrading or changing to Mozilla or something (or IE, but that's evil). Second, check you have cookies enabled. If you're still having troubles, e-mail Liz or file a Bug Report.
- Mistakes can be edited out by the author of the message or the mods. To do this, look for the "Edit" link next to the date and author info inside the post itself. This is only available if you are currently logged in.
- If you're having any kind of technical problem with the board, plase make use of the Bug Report feature. Bug Reports go directly to our programmer, where he will deal with it.
