At least, I assume it's severely influencing his judgement. And I doubt that granny would miss the fact that he called Kali.

The Sakura was created as a cherry tree about 2.600 years ago (some earlier Tree Talks and tidbits in 36° state that). Therefore it is a wild form of sakura cherries, which don't have gender, but always need pollen from another cherry tree to produce fruits, because they are not self-pollinating (plants aren't as narrow-minded as mammals in that regard ;) and after being around for over 2.000 years, our sentient sakura certainly drew its own conclusions...

[on a side note: there are trees who have sexes; ginkgo for example; hence: "Lady Ginkgo", because the tree in Seishiro's backyard is female]. :)
