Pairing: Seishirou/Subaru
Their first kiss was not the one Subaru remembered. It happened much earlier. Seishirou remembered holding the beautiful little boy in his arms, wondering if he should kill him. Perhaps it was the recent death of his mother that made Seishirou hesitate. He was alone in the world now, no one knew him and no one cared. In his arrogance to prove himself worthy of the title of Sakurazukamori, he'd forgotten the one sentence his mother had often said to him. "Always together, never touching. You don't know its meaning yet, Seishirou but you will. It will be the only rule that governs your life when you become the next Sakurazukamori." She smiled at him, a quiet sorrow on her lovely face. It had taken him only a week to discover its meaning. As predator and protector, everyone around him was prey or enemy. He was everywhere yet nowhere, and none would ever know he existed. The young Seishirou had looked at the boy and wondered if he could make this boy his special person. This one would care if Seishirou died, Seishirou the person and not Seishirou the Sakurazukamori. He smiled fondly thinking of his mother and her cryptic way of teaching. He kissed the boy in his arms, a chaste, innocent kiss and wove the spell to seal this encounter and its bloody memory from the boy's mind. Seishirou smiled, tilting the glass of liquor in his hand and reminiscing. Over the years he'd been tempted to let slip that small truth but he didn't. Even if Subaru and he had reached a middle ground of sorts, Seishirou wanted to keep the memory a secret. Something to cherish between himself and his mother's image in his mind. Something to which he could imagine his beautiful mother smile and say "I told you so." ~ End ~
