God, I'm crying. S/S has always depressed me, but never made me cry before. Wow. I have to read this again. I'm wiping my eyes as I write. No fic has ever made me burst into tears like this.

Wow, I love this SO much.
Seishirou's needling of Subaru is brilliantly done. I cringed and ached right along with him. Seishirou is a bastard, but a very, very skilled one.
He took Subaru with him, out the balcony? That's an image I missed on the first read. Bittersweet. Very intense. Excellently done.
Just a comment... when the bet was made, Subaru was in his formal Sumeragi robes ^^ It'd be hard to mistake him for anyone else. But I DO love the history you detailed. It gives the story a whole other level of realism and... just, wow. I can't say how I like it. But it's wonderful. MEGA KUDOS.
God, this is where I started bawling. Where the jitsu DIDN'T WORK. *hugs a pillow and actually wipes her eyes* Oh....

Before the edit, your fic was short, powerful, and stunning.
Now it's epic. Added to my personal list of S/S fic canon.
